All tools and devices in the Hacklab should be accompanied by a standardized label, which will include the following information:
-the name of the item
-a QR code directing the user to the item's wiki page
-the human-friendly URL corresponding to this code
-a series of icons, indicating the level of certification required to use the item as well as the item's status and permissions
-the Hacklab logo
Additionally, the larger labels will also include the owner of the item.
The QR code will point to a shortened URL for the item's wiki page. This URL is produced by tiny.cc, who also generates the QR code and allows us to track its usage.
The wiki page for each tool and device should include the following information:
-the name of the item
-the item's location within the lab
-a maintenance log
-safety precautions
-instruction manual(s)
-ownership arrangements
-emergency contact information
-the Hacklab certifications required to be authorized to use the item
The following is a concept of what these labels will look like.
